
Barry Rusnock, Climbing Instructor has been teaching climbing since 1979. He climbs and guides extensively in New York's Adirondacks and Shawangunk Mountains, New Hampshire's White Mountains, Vermount's Green Mountains, Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Colorado's Boulder Canyon and Rocky Mountain National Park, Maine's Baxter State Park, and Seneca Rocks West Virginia. Barry currently works at CBS Corporation in New York as a Technical Engineer / Service Delivery Manager in the Infrastructure & Security Division.

Women on the Rocks
A Climbing
Clinic For Women
Women On The Rocks will teach basic
rock climbing fundamentals to the beginner. Novice climbers will learn
about the equipment, belaying, building anchors, rappelling, knots, and
body position. Students will learn how to maintain focus during the
climbing process. By learning how to focus attention we learn to trust
our climbing partner, the equipment, and your new skills.

Families Who Rock
will teach basic rock climbing fundamentals to the family group.
Families Who Rock
can be conducted outside at a nearby cliff, or inside a local climbing
gym. All information will be relayed to each child according to their
appropriate age and development. Emphasis will be on safety, learning
skills, equipment and climbing terms. Parents will be instructed
alongside their children while discovering courage, excitement and the
thrill of Adventure.
Rock climbing can be fun, and the entire family can participate with
the assistance and direction of our expert staff. Child harness and
safety helmets available.

Ice Climbing
So You Want To Climb Ice? Learn with us!
Ice climbing is the recreational activity of climbing frozen ice that
accumulates as a waterfall freezes. Participants will learn how to size
climbing boots, helmets, fit ice crampons, hold, carry and swing the
ice axe, and how to hike into the ice climbing site. You will learn how
to dress to stay warm while spending a day outside in the cold. We will
also cover layering for optimum warmth with the correct clothing
materials as well as cold weather tips for selecting high energy food
and liquids.

Instruction for Beginners: Cross
Country Skiing is one of the healthiest recreational activities for the
body and soul. Absorbing the beauty of nature with its towering trees,
mountain vistas, or endless snow covered meadows while experiencing a
total body workout. No one is ever too old or too young to cross
country ski.
Cross country skiing uses natural movements. Learn the basic techniques
needed for flat terrain, up, and down hills. Become familiar with
waxing and maintaining ski equipment or choosing the correct clothing
for all levels of skiing. Take an easy glide through the woods on
freshly fallen snow, travel at your own pace enjoying the views, the
serenity, the quiet!

Family Adventure Hike will teach you
about what is in your own backyard exploring the Musconetcong River,
the pathway into Stephens State Park, and the Highlands Trail. These
natural resources offer a wide variety of plant life, birds, and animal
life. To make this adventure more interesting, we will be testing your
ability in nature with a scavenger hunt.
Exploring nature is a very relaxing activity for all. We will survey
the changing environment in the various seasons and watch the animals
as they enjoy a season or prepare for the next.
